Like most of my Leftovers and Palette Gremlins, this was born from accident, inspiration, and materials at hand. The palette of warm tones came from a recently completed painting. The graduated blue was overspray on a scrap of board.

The colors reminded me of time spent at Rialto Beach during a vacation years ago. The sky was a compelling blue, providing a splendid backdrop to the twisted shapes of driftwood littering the beach.

Musing on that day gave rise to this image in my head.
