This started as a small doodle left by master sculptor Jordu Schell who was visiting my studio. Jordu mostly does movie special makeup work, but you can see some of his incredible work here: www.jorduschell.com. What an amazing and fun guy!
I had offered to share some new pencils that author George Beahm had given me with Jordu, and suggested he try one out. He drew a little sketch on a scrap of an old print I had taped to cover my drawing table, and it just said “goblin.” Special thanks to Jordu – and George – for the inspiration.
