THE LOST CITY*

As I began working on a new cover for AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS by HP Lovecraft, I dreamt about being lost in L.A. I was looking down on the city with strange buildings popping up through the fog.

No doubt that was prompted by the line “There’s a fog upon L.A.” from “Blue Jay Way” by the Beatles, a song I’d been listening to.”

From the dream, I found inspiration for an image of explorers looking down on the fog to see the spires of alien buildings barely visible through the mist.
