This painting began with drips on a small piece of canvas that reminded Michael of stone pinnacles at Bryce Canyon National Park.
Inspired by photos taken on a hiking trip years ago, Michael imagined a fantasy landscape with “fairy chimneys” sprouting bubbly seed pods, and its defender soon followed.
