This Friday, the Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford, Connecticut welcomes Michael Whelan for the opening reception of The Korshak Collection: Illustrations of Imaginative Literature.

The Korshak collection is a vision of the fantastic, one of great illustrators, as well as illustrations that had a great influence on imaginative literature. In addition to 2 vintage Whelan paintings, this exhibition includes works by Frank Frazetta, Frank Kelly Freas, The Brothers Hildebrandt, N.C. Wyeth, Howard Pyle and many others.

Michael Whelan will be leading an informal walk through of the paintings on display, and afterward will be available for autographs. Come hear Michael talk about his work and share his insight into some of this fantastic art.

The Opening Reception is free of charge and open to the public, but please RSVP by Wednesday, September 20 so the museum can plan the food and drinks for everyone. Please RSVP via email or call 203.977.6521.

The collection will be on display from September 22 through October 29, 2017.
